Why?

This store is my revenge. My name is Kirsten Miller, and I write novels. Each and every one of my books took years to write, edit, and promote. Even the crappy ones. But like all human authors, I put more than time into my work. That’s me on the page. I chose every damn word. I suffered over sentences. I waited each morning for my fickle muse to make an appearance. And if she failed to show, I wrote anyway, even if it felt like Annie Wilkes-level torture.

My books are my art and my livelihood. So imagine my fury when I discovered our sociopathic tech overlords had stolen my novels and used them to train their AI. Authors aren't the only victims, obviously. They’ve also gorged their models on our art works, music, and graphic design. They’ve almost certainly stolen every photo, image, and word you’ve ever posted. It’s quite likely they’ve been through your emails and texts, too.

And what does humanity get in return for feeding their AI monsters? Our tech overlords have promised that when their demon babies grow up, they’ll take our jobs and/or put an end to humankind. (While the billionaires hide out in their fancy bunkers, of course.)

I suppose some people are still out there looking for upsides. Call me petty, but I just can’t let this go. If you've read my work, you know my best books are about revenge.

I’m not a billionaire, and I’m not particularly gifted when it comes to design and the graphic arts. (If you are and you’d like to help with the project, send me a note!) But I do know a little something about communications, and I know we can defeat these supervillains if we rise up together. So whether or not you buy something here, make sure everyone knows exactly how you feel about AI and the billionaires hell-bent on destroying our world as we know it.
